I found it interesting to share with you my experience at EM Strasbourg and in particular a typical day as a student at my school.
For my course, I did two years of pre-prep ECE, so economic, to take competitive exams and after these, I got the EM Strasbourg. So I packed my bags and after a 6-hour drive, I landed in the beautiful city of Strasbourg, which I didn't know at all, to do my first year.
During this first year, I followed the French-English course (we had the choice between French-French, French-English and French-German). So I had half of the classes in French and the other half in English. The first year is really focused on the basics of business so we had all the possible subjects (law, finance, marketing,...). In the second semester, we could choose between marketing or finance, in order to specialize a bit, while still having basic courses.
In the second year, we have the choice between staying in the school and making an association (especially for the BDS, BDE and BDA lists), or going abroad. I chose to leave. I was supposed to travel to England but the Covid arrived and my exchange was cancelled. So I did everything remotely from France.
Then, here I am in my third year. You have the choice to either do an internship year or to do the third year (abroad for those who stayed in Strasbourg during the second year). I had to choose a major this year, which is called Operational and Strategic Marketing, which I chose in English (we have the choice between several majors and between the language too). And I started my year at the beginning of September. I have almost only marketing classes, as you may have guessed, and as they are in English, I am mixed with internationals, which I really appreciate because they have a different culture and way of doing things. And I'm going to finish the courses at the end of March, then start my internships until December in order to graduate afterwards. And even if we don't have many hours of classes, it is compensated by all the group work we have to do.
On a typical day, I wake up an hour before class because I live next to the school (and yes, I'm lucky). I have breakfast, get dressed, sometimes put on makeup and head to school. I attend my class which lasts 3-4 hours in a row, then I go home to eat. Since we normally have either morning or afternoon classes, I can easily adapt my days. In the afternoon, I work a bit, rest, read a few pages of my book and around 5pm, I sometimes go to the Embassade, the school bar where beers are 2-3€. You can play foosball or switch/playstation and most of all it's a place where you can have fun with your friends and meet the sophomores and juniors (and vice versa for them). Then, I go home and eat a good meal and after watching a series or reading or going out with friends, I sleep until I start a new day.
