Although I study at EM Strasbourg, I also wanted to highlight the other schools to see how life in business school is both similar and different between schools. So here are a few words about ICN Nancy, BSB Dijon and Kedge Marseille written by people I know.
Anonymous - ICN
For a few months now, I have been a student at ICN Business School, the business school in Nancy. This school has, in a short time, taken a very important place in my life, and I wanted to share with you my experience for the next first years.
First of all, the campus is huge, because of the Artem alliance, gathering the schools of Nancy (ICN and the school of art and design). Indeed, this alliance is a real asset since we establish joint inter-school projects. It is very common to have classes with engineers or artists, which is very enriching. In addition, the school offers more than 40 very diverse associations, including 4 offices (BDE, BDA, BDS, BDI) which are the pride of the school. At ICN, we also organize big events: fashion show, open food, open bar, after work, the Wei which was this year in Cap d'Agde. On the program: swimming pool, foam party, beach, open nuggets and many other activities. We can say that for alcohol and party lovers, ICN knows how to party (there is an event every night), without forgetting the different songs that punctuate the evenings.
I have met some great people, with whom I have created strong bonds. There is a very good understanding between the different classes, with the watchword being benevolence. We are like a family. Moreover, Nancy is a very beautiful city. You only have to look around Place Stanislas to see that, and the city is very active. There are many students.
However, life is expensive. The rhythm of the evenings can quickly become complicated in parallel with the tuition fees which, like any business school, are very expensive! Don't panic, the month of September is the most complicated, but the rhythm calms down a little bit afterwards (but not too much either, it would be a shame). To conclude, I am very satisfied with my school and I feel good there, which is the most important. Don't hesitate to come to the open house, you might fall in love with it like I did.
Emma - Kedge
The welcome at Kedge starts with an integration week called the induction week, with workshops, an outing to the calanques which is the place to be next to the school, and finally a simulation of the UN (Simonu, which is an association of the school) quite interesting.
We also had the pleasure to make an evening to get acquainted between first years, which is a nice initiative. Then, the WEI (integration weekend) arrived. This year, it was in Ardèche, a surprise destination. In short, it was too good with games in the bus with the different associations of the school, olympiads, a foam party, music with showcases (Niska, Vladimir Chauchemar), stands of associations or other stands like make-up, personalized t-shirts... and a DJ until 4 am.
The courses then started smoothly, so we had time to go to the beach, to do parties (especially those organized by the BDE) but especially to meet between first year students during those.
Then, it was necessary to enter an association, by the means of interview, which means to train and to take time to organize everything. It takes a lot of time and it is very important at Kedge to join an association, because they are the essence of the school and are very professional.
Kim - BSB
First of all, if I chose to go to BSB it was mainly for the atmosphere during the orals and for the city. I immediately felt good in Dijon, the team was welcoming and there to reassure us. The city is very beautiful despite the not very favourable climate, and the city center is of a human size just like the school. Indeed, BSB is a family school, the classes are of 30 students maximum with a class size of about 400, which allows us to have classes, to exchange with the teachers and to know each other.
From the beginning of the year, we were put in the bath in terms of parties and atmosphere, between the bar crawl of the first week, the WEI or the list campaigns. In short, we never had time to get bored. As in all schools, the campaigns of the BDE, BDS and BDA lists have left their mark on all of our student lives and it is difficult to explain what we experience at school until we are there. I have been at BSB for 5 months now and I do not regret my choice at all. I have met great people, both students and professors, and I have managed to become more independent, more self-confident and more determined to succeed.
Moreover, the associations take an important place in the school and in our lives, we never get bored! There are 26 associations and you are bound to find your happiness in one of them. Associations are like mini-companies and require a lot of responsibility but your association is also your family.
In semester one we have a common core and in semester two the subjects and class change, there is always a common core but we can take an option. At the end of each semester, there are midterms that are worth a certain percentage of the final grade, the remaining percentage is awarded throughout the semester during small in-class tests.
