First of all, happy new year to all (and everything you want)
Since September, I'm in Strasbourg for my studies, and I learned a lot of things about the student life in Strasbourg but also about the city. First of all, there are a lot of bicycles, which I appreciate because of the pollution, but on the other hand, in winter, it's cold and often grey. But there are mostly positive points to say about this splendid city.
What is nice about Strasbourg, besides being a very beautiful city where the European Parliament is located, is that Germany is next door and everything is cheaper in Germany. So yes, I go shopping there, get my gasoline... Believe me, it's very nice for the student life and the parties. By the way, the clubs in Germany (i.e. Gold, since it's the only German club I've tested) are great (5€ drinks, great smoking area, good music, and great dancing area). And you can get there by streetcar (thanks to the D line).
Of course, there are also nice things to do in Strasbourg itself. The stores, either in the city center, or in Les Halles, or in Rivetoile. It's cool at least we have the choice. And I even learned that there was a special Harry Potter store near Les Halles (l'Echope magique). There are also a lot of beautiful parks, the most famous is the Orangery Park.
And at the end of November, there is the Christmas market, which lasts a whole month with activities a little bit every day, things to buy and to see (notably the Christmas decorations) and just to have a good time in the Christmas spirit by going around the little chalets.
In short, there are plenty of activities to do in Strasbourg and I haven't tried everything yet. But I am delighted to have discovered this beautiful city.
And for the people in my school, I decided to make some course sheets (that I started for the partials but that I hope to continue for my second semester), so I share them with you.
