Fiction - The Mysterious Cave

The sun was shining that day as a group of five friends hiked through the forest of Blendamor, a forest big enough to hold all kinds of mysteries. But the girls were looking forward to a bit of adventure to have fun and enjoy their vacation. They owed this walk to Aline, a tall brunette with eyes as green as the fir trees. She was the most athletic of the group, always ready to do something. Her twin, Haley, preferred the lure of books and the calm of the wind. They had met their friends in elementary school and had been inseparable ever since. The big talker of the group, Lucy, a blonde with hazel eyes, was a ball of energy. She loved to learn and know a lot about everything. Chloe, nicknamed Red because of her red hair, was humble and knew how to warm up a sad heart. And Marine, a young girl with long black hair and eyes as blue as the oceans, had a kindness like no other. She could always be counted on. She was the backbone of the group, and the reason it always stayed so strong and together.

Suddenly, the girls found themselves in front of a cave, whose entrance was large enough to be illuminated by light, but also left room for darkness.

"I've always dreamed of visiting a cave," said Lucy.

"You're the only one who would dream that," said Aline.

"Well, shall we go?"

"We'll follow you, Lucy," said Chloe.

One by one, the girls entered the cave, gradually sinking into the darkness. They walked for a few minutes, their phone lights in hand, before landing in a large round room, lit by torches hanging on the walls. In front of them stood five doors, each with a symbol.

The five girls looked at each other, a look of incomprehension on their faces.

"I choose the earth symbol, it will inevitably lead us back to the exit," said Aline.

"And why is that?" asked her twin.

"Because the earth goes to the earth and therefore will lead us out of this cave."

"Not necessarily. I would choose air instead," said Haley. "Air means being outside, so getting out of here."

"I would choose water. After all, it's vital, and water circulates everywhere," said Marine.

"Energy!" exclaimed Lucy.

"No, fire!" said Chloe.

"Well then, let's separate!" decided Aline.

And so, each of them went their own way, following their own path to the exit. But there was more mystery in the cave than the girls realized. When they found themselves, well beyond the entrance to the den, they did not wonder much more about what had just happened. For each of them, indeed, nothing unusual had happened, but appearances are deceiving. And they discovered their mistake soon enough. Call it fate, but the cave had endowed them with incredible power, that of the elements of life.

Imagine all the possibilities that these powers brought into their lives, just know that it changed them forever and brought them even closer together, for they were bound by a force far greater than friendship.

END.
