I've been able to read more and more lately (because I've had fewer classes and I'm better able to organize myself to read more), and so I've discovered books that have really transported me and moved me. I would like to share them with you, if you have never read them, because they are worth the detour.
Confess. I discovered this book while watching the series Confess. I loved the show and it made me want to read the book. So I bought it and devoured it in a few days, just like the series. I just loved the story and it took me away. I was so into the book with Auburn and Owen. They are such deep characters that fit so well together. Their stories touched me to the core of my soul. And I really liked the concept of the artwork, designed around confessions. It brought a really original touch to the book.
Saga The book of Ivy. I don't know why, but at the beginning this saga didn't attract me at all. Then, little by little, I decided to get interested in it by reading reviews. And that made me want to read it. And I am not disappointed at all, on the contrary I thank these comments for having pushed me to discover this story. We discover a particular world in this saga, a world where arranged marriages are the norm. Of course, this world is not perfect, far from it. But that's why the saga is so addictive. And it is especially thanks to the characters who are endearing. Especially Bishop who is perfect and gives so much charm to the story.
Saga La pass-Miroir. Even if when I read the first volume, I was a bit dubious about the fact that I liked the story, my view gradually changed as I discovered the evolution of it. And now that I have finished the saga and the last volume, I'm left wanting more. I have grown to love this story and this saga with characters that will stay in my heart forever, especially Ophelia, Thorn and Archibald.
But wow, you really have to recognize the genius of the author, Christelle Dabos. Her ending is just unthinkable. The big revelation that is made there changes everything we thought we knew, and it makes us want to reread the whole saga just to understand how it is possible, to understand another point of view. Because everything you thought you knew is wrong, until the big revelation that opens your eyes to the whole story.
In short, his genius is just incredible, a genius that makes us want to reread the story just to know more and especially to understand things that we could not understand during our first reading.
Saga Le gang des prodiges. I really liked this saga. I find it very original because it gives place to two totally opposite points of view between a person who rebels, who considers himself as an enemy of the society, and another person, who despite some contrary opinions, is anchored in this society, a society that promotes superheroes. It is this aspect that I find very interesting because we are torn between these two points of view. And the more the story goes on, the more we are torn and it's the first time I feel this way when reading a book.
Dark Element Saga. As I love Jennifer L. Armentrout, I wanted to dive into this reading. And I am absolutely not disappointed. I loved the story, which I find super original and addictive, and especially the characters of Roth and Layla. They made me laugh out loud, and did so throughout the two volumes I read. That's what makes the story and plot so appealing and charming, and what made me love the books so much.
Bridgerton (Volumes 1 & 2). Having seen the series, I bought the book containing the first two volumes. And I loved them. Even though I knew Daphne's story, I liked having the details of her story despite the fact that they focus mostly on the characters involved in the romance with a few appearances of the secondary characters here and there, but not highlighted like in the series. However, it didn't bother me more than that, and I especially loved Anthony's story that I really got to know in his tome.
Strawberry Moon. I liked this two-volume wisecrack that mixes writing and comic book style drawing. Despite the fact that the volumes are short, I loved the story, which is suspenseful and especially the drawings which are fabulous and beautiful. And the characters are so endearing. In short, it's a perfect combo.
The Selection. I just discovered this saga, and I love it. Even if I found volume 2 a bit boring, I still loved the story and the plot. I was so into it that I read the volumes super fast. And the characters are endearing, especially America, Maxon and Marlee. And that ending, it kept me in suspense until the last page. So I started the sequel with Heiress, which takes the point of view of the next generation and I think the beginning is great, because you see how things have evolved since the previous volume, since the generation we got to know in the first books and it's just amazing. And obviously, I can't wait for volume 5, to learn more about this story.
