I discovered how to make a sprayed edge

Thanks to @instabookeuse and her jaspage academy, I was able to discover how to make a sprayed edge, which means coloring the pages of my books. As I'm not that good at drawing or painting, I stick to simple things but I must say that my second attempt was quite successful (because yes, the first one I failed, let's be honest).

For supplies, you need:

and there you go !

And for the steps it’s very simple (for an unicolourous sprayed edge):

  • Take your book (start with an old book, in case you miss it), you can also protect it by putting paper around the first cover page and the fourth because paint stains. I also advise you to protect your table with a cloth

  • Choose the colors you want, mix if you need with the help of the brushes

  • Then use your sponge, and moisten it a LITTLE BIT (because if you moisten it too much, it will cause your pages to warp, that's experience speaking)

  • With your sponge, take a little paint and apply it to the book, squeezing it well with your hand

  • Repeat the operation until you have a uniform color on the pages of your book

  • Once you are finished with the painting, check your book for stains around the edges, especially the covers, otherwise use water and a cloth to remove it

  • You can also leaf through the book to see how it looks and to peel off the pages if by chance the paint has stuck to them.

  • Then apply the varnish 30 cm from the book. I advise you to do this near your window because firstly, it stinks, and secondly, it gets everywhere so do this towards the outside.

  • Then let it dry (I don't know how long it takes, but I let them dry by using a large candle to flatten the books for about a good two hours before seeing the result)

Here is the result it gives after applying the varnish:

Now it's your turn!
