1. En scène by Cuvie
Summary:
Kanade's life is turned upside down the day she attends her neighbor's dance performance. Fascinated by the young girl's grace, Kanade has only one dream in mind: to become a ballerina! But dance is a difficult school, especially if you're not particularly predisposed.
However, despite the obstacles and disappointments, Kanade hangs in there. And she soon discovers that even the most gifted are faced with failure...
Why?
I put this manga in first place because the story makes me dream and nostalgic. As I'm passionate about classical dance, I love to see these dance scenes in the manga. It gives the story a fairytale feel and I can't help but love it. What's more, the drawings are sublime. And I love Kanade's character. She's strong, never gives up and has great morale, especially in the world of ballet. It's super inspiring!
2. At your side by Megumi Morino
Summary :
Will I ever be able to fall in love?
When, one snowy winter afternoon, Hotaru holds out her umbrella to Hanoi, one of her high school classmates who has just been dumped, she had no idea that this was the beginning of a new story. Indeed, the boy from the class next door turns up the next day to declare his love for her. Even though he doesn't really know her... Unsettled, she finally agrees to try dating him until Christmas. But what if, behind their deceptive appearances, the meeting of these two was actually the fruit of destiny?
In A tes côtés, discover the love story between a young girl who knows nothing of the feeling and a boy who has too much love to give. As the days go by and their first experiences unfold, their relationship begins to take shape...
Why?
The story is simple but beautiful, and that's what I love about this manga. The characters are interesting, endearing and cute. They reveal themselves little by little, through their past and their emotions, and that's what makes this story so charming. My favorite character is Hananoi, who moves me so much through his gestures and words.
3. Crush of lifetime by Jeong Halim & Kim Yeonwoo
Summary:
Yang Hye-Ji, nicknamed the Goddess of Instagram, has over 100,000 followers on her page. Yet she's never had a boyfriend. When she gets to high school, she hopes to fill the void, but finds herself paired up with Jo Ki-sung, a rather distant neighbor who doesn't seem interested in her popularity.
Why?
This six-volume webtoon is a beautiful romance between two high-school students. The characters are touching and learn together what a relationship is. I really liked the fact that Jo Ki-Sung keeps Yang Hye-Ji's feet on the ground and that, through him, she understands that popularity isn't everything.
It gets off to an odd start, but as you get to know the plot and the characters, the story becomes more interesting. It's easy to become attached to the protagonists, especially from the second volume onwards, and even more so in the third. My favorite volume is the fifth.
4. Solo Leveling by Jang Sung-Lak & N-Goon & Dubu
Summary:
When strange portals appeared in the four corners of the world, mankind had to find a way to avoid being slaughtered in the clutches of the monsters they brought with them. At the same time, some people have developed the ability to hunt. These intrepid fighters don't hesitate to charge into the heart of dungeons to battle the creatures they harbor.
Why?
I love this webtoon, which mixes action, video games, mystery and magic. In addition to the incredible story, I'm particularly fond of the main character, Jinwoo. He's courageous, strong but humble enough.
The story is interesting and addictive because there's a fairly mysterious and superbly crafted plot, with revelations that come when you least expect them. You wonder where it's all going to lead.
5. What's wrong with Secretary Kim? by Kim Myeongmi & Jeong Gyeong Yun
Summary:
Lee Yeongjun is the heir to a prestigious company, which he runs with a tight grip. Handsome, intelligent but above all full of himself, he considers himself to be the very picture of perfection. So when his personal secretary, Kim Miso, tells him she wants to resign, it's a cold shower! What was she thinking, after nine years of loyal service? To keep her with him, Lee Yeongjun will do anything... even the most eccentric things!
Why?
I was tempted by this saga when I read the summary. And I was pleasantly surprised. The story revolves around a secretary who wants to quit her job because her boss is arrogant and narcissistic. But because she's so good at her job, he doesn't want to let her go, so he's willing to do anything to make sure she stays. In this manga, we find a romance that takes place little by little, but not only that...
And I have to say I loved the story, which is in six volumes. It's funny, with a bit of romance, and it contains a mysterious plot about our main characters' past. I have a feeling I'll be rereading this webtoon often.
